text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;\">Site Rules &amp; Induction are a requirement under CDM.<\/span><br>\nCDM places duties on the Principal Client, Principal Contractor &amp; Principal Designer, as well as all contractors on site to apply the following safety principles:\n<ul>\n<li>Eliminate or control risks so far as is reasonably practicable<\/li>\n<li>Ensure work is effectively planned<\/li>\n<li>Appointing the right people and organisations at the right time<\/li>\n<li>Making sure that everyone has the right information, instruction, training, and supervision to carry out their work safely and without risks to health<\/li>\n<li>Have systems in place to help parties cooperate and communicate with each other and coordinate their work<\/li>\n<li>Consult workers with a view to securing effective health, safety and welfare measures<\/li>\n<li>Any actions required should always be sensible and proportionate to the risk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-field-type-html elementor-field-group elementor-column elementor-field-group-field_3d9d60d elementor-col-100\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;\">Why have site rules and induction?<\/span><br>\n<ul>\n <li>This is a stated requirement under CDM<\/li>\n <li>The law requires all of us to work safely<\/li>\n <li>We are each responsible for our own actions<\/li>\n <li>Any one of us could be prosecuted, fined, even imprisoned for not working safely<\/li>\n <li>Everyone has the right to expect to go work in a safe environment and go home from work without injury<\/li>\n <li>None of us wants to be injured or to be responsible for anyone else\u2019s injury or death<\/li>\n <li>So even without the law, it still makes good sense to work safely<\/li>\n <li>If in doubt, stop and ask your line manager<\/li>\n <li>If you see someone acting unsafely, it is your duty to stop that activity and report it to your line manager \/ supervisor<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-field-type-step elementor-field-group elementor-column elementor-field-group-field_cf55e54 elementor-col-100\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-field-step elementor-hidden\" data-label=\"\" data-previousButton=\"\" data-nextButton=\"I have read, understood, and agree\" data-iconUrl=\"\" data-iconLibrary=\"fas fa-star\" data-icon=\"\" ><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-field-type-html elementor-field-group elementor-column elementor-field-group-field_02562bb elementor-col-100\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color: black; font-weight: bold;\">\n  Red - Breakdown (SPACE ONLY &amp; SHELL SCHEME ACCESS)\n<\/span>\n- Thursday 17th September (16:30 \u2013 20:00)<br>\n<br>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\nSo, first be aware of the types of accidents most likely to happen on the exhibition site:\n<\/span><br>\n<ul>\n<li>Vehicle and mobile plant accidents<\/li>\n<li>Falls from height and being struck by falling objects<\/li>\n<li>Accidents with hand and power tools<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\nSecondly \u2013 be aware of your own employer\u2019s inductions &amp; risk assessments:\n<\/span><br>\n<ul>\n <li>Your employer should provide you with a task specific induction \/ toolbox talk on arrival at work<\/li>\n <li>You need to know what your employer\u2019s risk assessments say \u2013 and apply them to the work you do<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\nAnd be aware of the exhibition site safety rules too:\n<\/span><br>\n<ul>\n<li>As well as your employer\u2019s assessments, you need to know and comply with the following exhibition site safety rules<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<br>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">\nRemember where you are; stick to the Contractors\u2019 &amp; Employers\u2019 Code of Conduct.\n<\/span><br>\n<ul>\n<li>You should always be mindful of your behaviour<\/li>\n <li>Smoking is not permitted \u2013 including e-cigarettes<\/li>\n <li>You must always wear hi-vis vests and appropriate footwear as per your employer\u2019s risk assessment during build and breakdown<\/li>\n <li>You must ensure the utmost care &amp; consideration is taken when working onsite<\/li>\n <li>Alcohol on site is not permitted<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-field-type-step elementor-field-group elementor-column elementor-field-group-field_30d5f09 elementor-col-100\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-field-step elementor-hidden\" data-label=\"\" data-previousButton=\"\" data-nextButton=\"\" data-iconUrl=\"\" data-iconLibrary=\"fas fa-star\" data-icon=\"\" ><\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-field-type-html elementor-field-group elementor-column elementor-field-group-field_7bfbf4a elementor-col-100\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<span style=\"color: black; text-decoration: underline; font-weight: bold;\">Emergency Procedures\n<\/span><br>\n<p>There are seven emergency procedures at Excel, of which all Exhibitors should be aware of. Please ensure that all staff are briefed on these procedures.<\/p>\n\n<b>EMERGENCY NUMBERS<\/b>\n\n<p>To call from an external line, add the prefix 020 7069 followed by the extension numbers listed below:<\/p>\n\n<p>In any emergency i.e., Medical, fire, security, unattended packages 020 7069 (4444) extension<br>\nSecurity enquiries 020 7069 (4445) extension<br>\nMedical enquiries 020 7069 (5556) extension<\/p>\n\n<p>Telephones are located at al entrances &amp; exits from the halls and in the organisers office<\/p><br>\n\n<b>FIRE<\/b>\n\n<p>On discovering a fire. Break the glass on the nearest manual call point (coloured red), which are located adjacent to all exits, or contact the Security Suite by dialling 4444 on an internal telephone or 020 7069 4444 immediately.<\/p>\n\n<p>Only if you have been trained and it is a very minor fire and is safe to do so, tackle the fire with the nearest suitable fire extinguisher. Always ensure that there is a safe exit route before attempting to extinguish any fire.<\/p>\n\n<p>In the event of a fire report, you will hear the following instructions broadcast over the public address system:<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201c<b>ATTENTION PLEASE, ATTENTION PLEASE. MR GOODFELLOW REPORT TO THE SECURITY SUITE.<\/b>\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Take no immediate action, stand-by and wait for further instructions and prepare to evacuate. Remember, do not put yourself at risk.<\/p><br>\n\n<b>EVACUATION<\/b>\n\n<p>If an evacuation is necessary, you will hear the following announcement broadcast over the public address system:<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201c<b>ATTENTION PLEASE, ATTENTION PLEASE. HERE IS AN IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT. IT IS NECESSARY TO ASK EVERYONE TO LEAVE THE BUILDING. PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY CALMLY TO THE NEAREST EXIT. DO NOT RETURN TO YOUR VEHICLES. EVERYONE WILL BE RE-ADMITTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.<\/b>\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Use the nearest available emergency exit route to the appropriate assembly point. In the unlikely event that an evacuation is necessary please remember to take your visitors with you. In case of an emergency leave by the nearest exit and please make your way to your closest assembly point.<\/p>\n\n<p><b>West Assembly Point: Royal Victoria Square<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>East Assembly Point: East Car Park<\/b><\/p>\n\n<p>The fire procedure is cancelled by the following instructions broadcast over the public address system.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201c<b>ATTENTION PLEASE, ATTENTION PLEASE. MR GOODFELLOW IS NO LONGER REQUIRED.<\/b>\u201d<\/p><br>\n\n<b>UNATTENDED ITEMS<\/b>\n\n<p>Do not touch or move any suspicious item. Remain vigilant at all times, Vigilant behaviour by staff and members of the public can disrupt potential attack planning. Be aware of suspicious people, incidents and packages. Please refrain from using two-way radios or mobile phones near any suspect packages as they are not intrinsically safe and could set off any potential explosive device.<\/p>\n\n<p>Report them to the Security Suite, by dialling 4444 on an internal telephone or 020 7069 4444 immediately. Follow the instructions that you are given. Remember, always be alert and never look after items belonging to other people.<\/p><br>\n\n<b>BOMB THREAT<\/b>\n\n<p>In the event of a bomb threat, you will hear the following announcement: \u201c<b>ATTENTION PLEASE, ATTENTION PLEASE. STAFF CALL 100.<\/b>\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p>Do not leave the building. Inform your colleagues, and then assist in searching for suspicious objects in your work area. If nothing is found, tell your Fire Warden, who should report \u201cArea Clear\u201d to the Security Suite immediately after the search on internal 4444 or in person if necessary. If you find a suspicious object, DO NOT touch, or move it. Calmly clear the area of people and report to the Security Suite immediately on internal 4444 or in person if necessary.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Emergency is cancelled by the announcement: \u201c<b>ATTENTION PLEASE, ATTENTION PLEASE. STAFF CALL 100 IS CANCELLED.<\/b>\u201d<\/p><br>\n\n<b>TELEPHONE BOMB THREAT<\/b>\n\n<p>Remain calm and listen carefully. Write down all that is said. Try to discover: - Where is the bomb located? - When is it going to explode? - What does it look like? - What type of bomb is it? - What will cause it to explode? - Did the caller plant the bomb? - Why? - Any other useful information?<\/p>\n\n<p>Write down the exact time of call. Please note down any background noises that can be heard or any accent the caller may have. This could all be valuable information when passing details over to the emergency services. Inform the Security Suite, by dialling 4444 on an internal telephone immediately.<\/p><br>\n\n<b>CHEMICAL, BIOLOGICAL, RADIOACTIVE OR NUCLEAR THREAT (CBRN) - CHEMICAL SPILLAGE<\/b>\n\n<p>In the event of a possible CBRN\/chemical spillage, if you are on the exhibition floor you will hear the following announcement.<\/p>\n\n<p>ATTENTION PLEASE. ATTENTION PLEASE. MRS CAROLis in ------ (location of chemical device\/carrier\/spillage).<\/p>\n\n<p>If you are not directly involved in the incident, you should DO NOTHING until you receive further instructions.<\/p><br>\n\n<b>MEDICAL EMERGENCIES<\/b>\n\n<p>The Medical First Aid room is located on level 0 between N4 and S4 boulevard shutters down the stairs. For medical enquires dial 5556 from any internal telephone.
