The agreement provides the commercial confidence needed for investors to advance development of what is set to become the country\u2019s first commercial-scale SAF plant.<\/p><p>Targeted to come online by late 2027, the project is expected to deliver up to 145,000 tonnes of SAF per year, along with bionaphtha and biopropane. Once operational, the plant could help cut as much as 500,000 tonnes of CO\u2082-equivalent emissions annually.<\/p><p>According to Geoff Mansfield, VP of Low Carbon Fuels at Shell Trading, locking in the plant\u2019s entire production will strengthen Shell\u2019s global low-carbon fuels network and further support aviation decarbonisation efforts.<\/p><p>Shell currently supplies SAF to more than 80 locations across 18 countries, and since 2024 has been one of the world\u2019s largest traders and suppliers of SAF\u2014driven by long-term producer partnerships, strong airline relationships, and
