The use of the energy contained in vapour or waste gas can be executed not only to heat (oxidation) but also to electrical energy and heat. This is a highly optimised way of using ‘free energy’ from the VOC emissions. If required, a concentration system can be used to increase the VOC concentration (and reduce the flow rate) of the emission stream.
After concentration, the high concentration desorption air is cleaned in a high-efficiency purification in a thermal post-combustion plant. This system consists of micro gas turbines that convert the VOC into both heat and electrical power. The off gas from the micro gas turbines is subjected to post-treatment in a catalytic converter, ensuring total emission compliance.
This system can also be used as an addition or replacement for existing combined heat/power generation systems.
