Technip Energies has secured two major contracts from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) for strategic projects at its Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai refinery in Maharashtra, India.
The first contract involves engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) of new polypropylene and Butene-1 units at the Bina refinery. These units will have capacities of 550 kilotons per annum (ktpa) of polypropylene and 50 ktpa of Butene-1—key feedstocks for a wide range of applications, including packaging, piping and automotive products. The scope forms part of BPCL’s Bina Petrochemical and Refinery Expansion Project, which includes expanding refinery capacity and developing a new cracker along with downstream petrochemical facilities.
