TechnipFMC and BP Exploration & Production Inc., a subsidiary of bp, have signed a memorandum of understanding covering potential cooperation on 20,000 psi (20K) subsea tree systems for bp’s Paleogene projects in the Gulf of America.
The agreement provides a framework for the companies to identify early opportunities and pursue technology development. Their aim is to improve project outcomes and provide greater certainty around delivery schedules.
TechnipFMC chair and chief executive Doug Pferdehirt said the agreement supports the deployment of standardised 20K solutions. He said combining proven technologies with repeatable project delivery could improve predictability and performance across future developments.
