POLYTEC GmbH
About us
Polytec develops optical measurement systems and is the world market leader in the field of non-contact optical vibration measurement technology. The company also focuses on fiber optic measurement technology. Temperature, strain, deformation, pressure or liquid level can be measured using fiber optics either selectively or as a profile with thousands of measuring points spaced at millimeter intervals via a single glass fiber. Whether in RF fields, explosion-proof areas, or chemically aggressive environments. Solutions for liquid level monitoring can be used in nearly any environment and delivers reliable results for decades. The “Plug & Forget” design means the sensors can operate permanently, without regular maintenance or servicing.

OGI camera
OGI cameras from Polytec / Cantronic offer a highly effective solution to meet the requirements of the new EU regulation. These specialized infrared cameras make it possible to identify and locate even the smallest methane leaks in real time. Key benefits of OGI cameras: • Precise leak detection • Real-time monitoring • Increased safety • Compliance and reporting • Cost savings There are version for different applications: • Handheld camera V340 The Cantronic V340 Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) camera offers exceptional gas leak detection capabilities. The camera can detect even the smallest leaks of over 400 different volatile organic compounds (VOCs), including methane, benzene, ethanol and gasoline. With a spectral range from 3.2 μm to 3.5 μm wavelength, the V340 ensures comprehensive coverage and accurate detection. • Stationary camera M330/M630 The cameras are equipped with a pan and tilt dual-vision arrangement and enable 24/7 real-time visualization and detection of gas leaks. They are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel and ensure safe and stable operation even in the most demanding environments. The models are suitable for process industries and plants such as refineries, oil and gas storage facilities, natural gas storage and transportation facilities, chemical/petrochemical plants, biogas plants and power stations. • Airborne inspection system U-340 The system consists of the DJI M300RTK drone and the D340 pod-type VOCs gas leakage infrared camera. The camera is equipped with a high-sensitivity HOT MWIR detector, which ensures optimal performance. Thanks to UAV image transmission, users can observe dual-light images of VOC gas leaks in real time, enabling fast and informed decision making. The system is ideal for real-time detection of VOC gas leaks in critical industrial environments such as refineries, offshore oil and gas production platforms, natural gas storage and transportation facilities, chemical industries, biogas plants and power plants.

WaterSens
The fiber-optic level measurement systems from Polytec / Opsens Solutions are based on pressure measurement using white-light interferometry technology. The measurement point is located at the end of the fiber. The WaterSens solution for liquid level monitoring can be used in nearly any environment and delivers reliable results for decades. The “Plug & Forget” design means the sensors can operate permanently, without regular maintenance or servicing. The main features are: • Robust design • High long-term precision, no drift over time • “Plug & Forget,” maintenance-free for decades of continuous operation • Remote operation • Suitable for hazardous environments, ATEX-compliant • No danger from lightning strikes due to electromagnetic immunity • Embedded optical temperature sensor for real-time compensation • ±1 mm Measuring accuracy The measurement principle is simple: the liquid level is calculated from the hydrostatic pressure exerted by the height of the liquid due to gravity. This pressure is determined using a patented technology based on optical Fabry-Pérot interferometry. This technology, known as WLPI (White Light Polarization Interferometry), operates using the phase modulation of light — the most sensitive method for fiber-optic measurements.
