About us
Tank terminals are characterised by the storage of large volumes of highly flammable and/or explosive substances in a relatively small area. An incident can quickly result in an unmanageable situation unless effective fire protection measures are in place. The fire protection equipment must be reliable even under extreme conditions because fire safety in this sector is crucial. Periodic testing of the equipment in an effective and environmentally friendly manner is essential. Our specialists have specific knowledge of your sector and will be pleased to share ideas on the best solution for your situation. And they will give you a clear idea of the costs, not just of purchase but also of preventive and corrective maintenance.

FoamTronic
Foamtronic is an electronic foam mixing system which very accurately mixes foam concentrate and water, based on the actual firewater demand of the system. The Foamtronic is designed for high volume foam systems.

Flamedetection on ‘Live’ Geodesic Dome Tanks: Saval offers the perfect solution ! Most Geodesic Dome tanks have Linear Heat Detection on the inaccessible internal floater. It means that repair or maintenance is normally not possible on live tanks. Saval introduces a perfect solution to install Det-Tronics Flame Detection on ‘LIVE’ tanks at the outside in ATEX zone 1. Executed during full production. Consequently planning to install fire detection without emptying and degassing the tanks is now possible! Maintenance can be done at all times and 99,7% availability is secured. Optimal Fire Detection for Geodesic Dome tanks: Visit Saval at stand C4

CFI Rim Seal Fire Protection For Floating Roof Tanks
External and internal floating roofs in storage tanks include different types of rim seals that allow the movement of the floating roof against the tank shell. This rim seal area is prone to many hazards such as lightning and sparks produced by friction or static electricity. These hazards can easily cause a fire to develop undetected hidden by the tank shell until it reaches a dangerous intensity and possibly burn out of control. Saval as a tank protection specialist manufactures the best gaseous fire protection system for all types of rim seal fires. The CFI rim seal system combines automatic detection and extinguishment which ensures that any incipient fire is extinguished within seconds.

Foam-IX
Foam-IX is a unique solution that enables the use of highly viscous (fluorine-free) extinguishing foam concentrates. It optimizes the mixing of foam concentrate and water by using induced turbulence. By using Foam-IX, the required distance between the extinguishing foam concentrate injection point and the manifold is considerably shortened. The FoamTronic system supplies the extinguishing foam concentrate. The patented Foam-IX is a non-return valve with an integrated injection point. Patent is pending.

Foam proportioning at terminals without foam pumps
Tank terminals typically require an extensive amount of foam concentrate on multiple locations as the protected areas can be very large. Al centralized foam stock with foam pumps are often used to pump foam concentrate to these multiple locations where firewater and foam concentrate are mixed. The foam pumps require a high degree of care to maintain them in good condition. Periodic testing of these pumps is required, repairs of the foam pumps are certainly not uncommon. The testing and repairs are costly and disturb the operation of the customers maintenance department. We introduce an alternative using a stainless steel PRESSURE TANK. This tank will hold the foam concentrate stock and will be automatically pressurized when foam concentrate is needed.

F3 foam nozzle
The F3 foam nozzle is specially designed for cooling and extinguishing with extinguishing foam for local applications, such as truck transfer stations. There are several fire scenarios to be considered for these applications. Truck transfer stations are used to load and unload (flammable) liquids with a risk of leakage. Additionally, these stations are usually located near storage tanks and pumping installations for these liquids, so there is a risk of a fire starting. If a fire occurs in the vicinity of the loading station an effective cooling system is required to cool the trucks. In the event of a fire in the loading station itself it is necessary to extinguish this liquid fire with foam.
