Area Sales Manager - Process Control Equipment Benelux
The Area Sales Manager will be the direct customer interface of the company, the successful candidate will need to be a professional, self motivated high achiever, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of business, as well as working closely with our internal team to ensure we are able to make timely accurate offers to our clients, you will be commercially aware. You will have the ability to make effective presentations to clients, and also to colleagues & management.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in an external sales role
- Knowledge of industrial valves for the oil-gas industry
- Experience of the process industry, process control, or allied industries
Skills
- Good level of English
- Dutch speaker
- Driving licence
- Ability to communicate across multiple levels.
- Effective time management with the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to use all packages within the Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent negotiation skills
Key responsibilities
- Arrange regular customer visits to develop relationships and leverage sales.
- Effectively promote PCE and its products
- Research and identify new business opportunities including new customers, new markets, growth areas, trends, and partnerships.
- Develop relationships with prospective customers.
- Meet sales targets.
- Prepare regular sales forecasts.
- Submit reporting of customer activity and monthly sales.
- Ensure effective follow-up of all inquiries, sales leads, and quotations.
- Liaise with the internal sales team to maximise project sales.
- Position the company to receive tender opportunities.
- Maximise sales from all existing accounts and identify opportunities to leverage sales of complementary products.
- Develop market and customer knowledge to include technical requirements, schedules, timeframes, shutdowns, and turnarounds, and establish opportunities for company participation.
- Monitor and report on current market activity, including competitor activity, manufacturer product development, and changes to the route to market.
- Assist with the ongoing identification and development of additional stock product opportunities.
- Create sales plans to include prospective and existing customers including initiatives focussing on lost and declining business.
- Develop customer retention strategies in conjunction with evolving customer needs.
- Ensure that all activities and actions relevant to this position are carried out safely and in compliance with the PCE company’s quality systems.
Education
- A degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, instrumentation qualification, or similar would be preferred but not essential.
