Since its launch in January 2007, Fort Vale’s MK3 SafeLoad bottom loading coupler has achieved widespread success at road fuel loading terminals across the UK and Europe, operating reliably in environments ranging from Iceland to Italy.

Following a comprehensive product review supported by rigorous endurance and impact testing, Fort Vale confirmed the exceptional reliability of the MK3 SafeLoad coupler. As a result, the company introduced an unprecedented three-year warranty covering wear and tear of all metal parts under standard environmental conditions.*

Sales analysis also highlighted outstanding seal performance, with seal kits accounting for only 15% of total coupler sales. A range of seal materials is available to suit different cargos and operating conditions, all supplied competitively and ex-stock.

In line with BS EN13083 and BS EN12266 standards, Fort Vale conducted an in-house endurance test programme at its R&D facility using a pneumatically operated test rig. The coupler successfully completed 250,000 cycles—almost double the original target and ten times the minimum requirement of BS EN13083—remaining leak-free at MAWP with no significant wear or damage.

Further impact and drop testing based on BS EN13463 confirmed the coupler’s robustness, with the interlock remaining fully engaged after repeated impacts.
