FGV adds 15 new vegetable oil tanks in Malaysia

Malaysian company FGV has completed six new vegetable oil storage tanks in Malaysia and is building nine more as it seeks to fulfil the Malaysian government’s biodiesel mandate and meet growing demand.

FGV’s bulking and storage subsidiary FGV Johor Bulkers (FJB), which currently handles 25% of Malaysia’s palm oil exports, has completed four tanks with a total capacity of 10,400 tonnes at its site in Pasir Gudang in Johor, and two tanks with a total capacity of 5,200 tonnes at its site in Port Klang in Selangor. Nine further tanks with a total capacity of 20,000 tonnes are currently under construction at FJB’s site in Tanjung Langsat, Johor. The company expects to complete the tanks by Q3 2021.

‘FJB is one of the most well-equipped terminals to handle all types of storage and cargo movement needs. Moving forward, FGV plans to expand its bulking business overseas and we are exploring the best options available,’ says FGV CEO, Dato’ Haris Fadzilah Hassan

In 2019, FJB expanded into handling basic chemicals as well as vegetable oils, and expects to handle more than 80,000 tonnes annually of basic chemicals at its facilities in Tanjung Langsat.
