Maureen Wood is the Sector Head of the Major Accident Hazards Bureau of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. In this role, she oversees the JRC contribution of analysis and tools to support implementation of the Seveso Directive and to promote capacity building in chemical accident prevention and preparedness programmes globally. In addition, she leads the EU’s scientific programme that focuses on accident analysis and collaborating with Seveso authorities and international organisations to exchange lessons learned and good practice for risk management. Previously, she worked for the U.S. Chemical Safety Board and the American Chemistry Council in the area of process safety.
