Neste Joined the Membership of Bioenergy Australia

In July 2021, Neste became a member of Bioenergy Australia, the leading bioenergy industry association in the country. This membership provides Neste with the opportunity to support initiatives to tackle climate change and decarbonise transport in Australia.

Being a member of Bioenergy Australia, Neste will contribute its expertise in reducing aviation emissions through the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Alliance of Australia & New Zealand, and road transport emissions through the Cleaner Fuels Alliance, which are both working groups in the association. The former aims to create a collaborative environment to advance sustainable aviation fuel production, policy, education and marketing in Australia and New Zealand markets.

“This is a very important step for Neste being closer to Australia and New Zealand as a strategic partner”, said Steven Bartholomeusz, Head of Public Affairs, Asia Pacific at Neste. “Now, besides renewable raw materials sourcing, we are also committed to sharing our knowledge of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel with Australia and New Zealand stakeholders via Bioenergy Australia”.

Neste has been sourcing renewable raw materials such as waste animal fat, and used cooking oil from Australia for its global production in renewable and circular solutions for many years. In November 2019, Neste opened its office in Melbourne, Australia to be closer to its partners for raw materials sourcing.
