- 24/01/2022
Storage and logistics provider GPS Group and energy transition company VARO Energy have completed a new railway line and ethanol storage tanks in the Port of Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
The two companies announced the project in November 2020. The new ethanol storage tanks at GPS’ storage and blending facility are connected to 20 class 1 tanks in the Port of Amsterdam by the new railway line. It is one of only a few rail facilities in the ARA region which enables the movement of traditional fuels and bio products. The new state-of-the-art facilities will be solely used by VARO, and will enter service on 1 February 2022.
