Air bp is celebrating 100 years of supporting the global aviation industry. Founded in 1926, the business has grown from supplying 2,582 gallons of fuel in its second year to approximately 6.6 billion gallons annually today, with operations at 600 airports across 40 countries.
Throughout its history, Air bp has supported major changes in aviation, from early mobile refuelling units and long-distance flights in the 1930s to helping establish safety standards for the sector. More recently, the company supplied fuel for the first commercial transatlantic flight powered entirely by sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
As it enters its second century, Air bp says it will continue to focus on reliable, safe and lower-carbon fuelling solutions to support aviation’s transition.
