RWE is excited to announce the launch of a tender for the purchase of green hydrogen that will be produced at our future electrolysis plant in Eemshaven, Groningen. We plan to install a 50MWe electrolyser at the Eemshaven power plant site, capable of producing up to 900 kg of green hydrogen per hour using electricity generated by the nearby Westereems wind farm.
The offtake tender is currently open for bids and will close on August 17. After the bid evaluation process, and contingent on a positive final investment decision scheduled for the end of 2024, we aim to commence green hydrogen production in 2027. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting step towards a sustainable energy future.
