Why do you think celebrating young talent in the industry is important?
Celebrating young talent in the oil and gas industry is important because it highlights the next generation of leaders who will navigate one of the most complex and evolving sectors in the world. As the industry faces increasing pressure to balance energy security, sustainability, and technological innovation, young professionals bring fresh perspectives, digital fluency, and a willingness to challenge traditional approaches.
Recognising emerging talent not only validates individual contributions but also helps attract and retain skilled professionals in an industry that must continuously adapt. It sends a clear message that innovation, diversity of thought, and forward-looking leadership are valued—qualities that are essential as oil and gas integrates with broader energy transition goals.
Ultimately, celebrating young talent fosters a culture of progress, inspires peers, and builds confidence in the industry’s future by showing that capable, driven individuals are ready to take it forward.
What has been your biggest challenge to date?
Rather than a single defining moment, my biggest challenge has been continuously pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. Whether it’s taking on new responsibilities, contributing in unfamiliar areas, or adapting to fast-paced environments, I’ve had to develop resilience and a growth mindset.
This ongoing challenge has been instrumental in shaping my approach to work and has helped me grow both professionally and personally.
What is your plan / goals for the future?
My goal for the future is to continue growing as a strategic leader in the oil and gas and storage sector, leveraging my expertise in advertising, account management, and marketing to help businesses connect more effectively with their audiences. I want to innovate in how we communicate industry insights, using digital tools and creative strategies to add real value for clients and readers alike.
Longer term, I aim to help shape the way the industry engages with emerging trends, whether that’s sustainability, technology, or operational best practices, so that Storage Terminals Magazine remains an essential platform for knowledge-sharing and professional growth. Ultimately, I want to contribute to a stronger, more connected, and forward-thinking community in the energy and storage sector.
What advice do you have to pass on to the next generation?
My advice to the next generation is to embrace curiosity and work hard, results rarely come overnight, but dedication and persistence do pay off. In roles like advertising, marketing, and account management, building relationships, understanding your clients, and continuously learning about the industry are key. The more effort you put into honing your skills and understanding the market, the more opportunities you’ll create for yourself and the people you work with.
If you could fly to any country tomorrow, where would you go and why?
If I could fly anywhere tomorrow, I would go to Crete, Greece. I had the chance to visit before, and I would love to relive the incredible holiday I experienced there, the stunning landscapes, vibrant culture, and delicious food made it unforgettable. It would be the perfect mix of relaxation and inspiration.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is: “never don’t give up.” No matter the challenges or setbacks, persistence and determination make the difference between giving up and achieving your goals. Keeping this mindset has helped me stay focused and grow in my career.
What’s one thing you’re really passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m really passionate about camping with friends and reformer Pilates. Camping gives me the chance to disconnect, enjoy nature, and recharge, while Pilates keeps me focused, strong, and balanced. Both help me maintain energy and perspective, which I bring back into my professional life. Life is short and we need to enjoy it.
If you could switch lives with someone for a day, who would it be?
If I could switch lives with someone for a day, it would be Greg Emmenis, my publisher. He navigates life with remarkable ease, handling every challenge in the best possible way, and is genuinely one of the happiest people I know. Experiencing his perspective for a day would be both inspiring and enlightening.
