TGS has signed an agreement with PetroGuin to reprocess more than 11,000 km² of 3D seismic data across Guinea-Bissau. The project is intended to give oil and gas explorers a clearer view of potential resources in the region.
The agreement gives TGS multi-client reprocessing rights to the JAAN 3D seismic dataset and builds on work the companies carried out in 2019. TGS will apply imaging technologies, including elastic dynamic-matching full waveform inversion and Kirchhoff pre-stack depth migration, to improve the quality of the existing data.
The resulting images are expected to support more confident assessment of both clastic and carbonate targets across the margin. TGS will undertake the project with GeoPartners, with work scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and final products expected in the fourth quarter of 2027.
