Marien graduated in Mechinal Engineering and Business Economics. He has over 40 years’ experience in the Process Industry. Key areas of expertise include process automation, process control, process safety and inspection.

He worked at leading companies like Emerson and SPIE introducing newest technologies in the process industry. Started his own company in 2012 to deliver on robotic/drone inspection technologies by full digitalization of the inspection and maintenance process. Marien founded with two other partners RoNik Inspectioneering in 2016. Developed full digital inspection concept including 3D modelling for confined spaces based on non-entry by using drones.

Tank inspections are fully compliant with the EEMUA159/API653 standards. In 2019 Terra Drone took a significant stake in the company and was renamed Terra Inspectioneering. This enables Terra Inspectioneering to support inspections and deployement of the UT Drones (wall thickness measurements) on a global scale.
