933-S In-line Deflagration / Detonation Flame Arresters
Flame arresters are used as secondary protection against explosions by preventing the transmission of flame and explosion transfer in machines, equipment and plant, containing inflammable gas or steam-air mixtures of inflammable liquids. These autonomous safety systems limit the effects of the explosions, rendering them harmless, they are intended to allow flow but prevent flame transmission. BS&B FlameSaf arrester products use the technical principle of a ‘quenching gap’. Precision coiled arrester elements are manufactured to allow normal flow to occur and to present a barrier to flame propagation. The quenching gap selected for the combustion condition of each application is too small for flame to pass and burning is ‘arrested’. Precision coiled arrester elements offer superior safety as compared to mesh type arresters which offer less stability of quenching gap. The BS&B FlameSaf product line includes arrester technology suited to safe management of deflagration and detonation risks in piping systems and equipment. End-of-line and inline devices are available along with P/V vents that offer integral arresters.

Safety Components
Safety components at service stations – Biofuels (E85) There are various technical solutions for the worldwide increased safety requirements for explosion protection. One of these challenges in particular; securing service stations, is met by RMGGASELAN with a newly developed range of compact flame arresters and vents. The vents serve to recirculate the petrol fumes safely, as well as secure ventilation. The development of various solutions became necessary, as the mineral oil companies worldwide all have their own safety philosophies. The new range is conceived in such a way that they are also in line with the increased technical requirements, which arose from the use of alternative fuels. In particular the continuing worldwide introduction of bioalcohol mixtures (E85) was taken into account. Therefore a sustainably fire resistant over and under pressure valve is a worldwide novelty for E85, which was matched to the particular technical requirements, has an interesting design and is produced in line with excellent quality standards. The compact design allows cost effective production which is reflected in a customer friendly price. With the new range, of which a large number of various valves has already been installed in Sweden, we hope to increase the popularity of RMG outside of the natural gas provision sector.

937-E Pressure Vacuum Relief Valves with Integrated Flame Arrester
The BS&B FlameSaf® breather valves offer a reliable, proven and efficient solution for protecting your people and plant without disrupting the operation. Drawing on our extensive experience in the industry, the 937-E series of weight loaded pressure and vacuum breather valves for vessels and storage tanks offer a dependable, internationally certified and precise solution to regulate pressure, preventing implosion or rupturing while providing protection against atmospheric deflagrations. The valves, which include an integral flame arrester, positioned to minimize plugging, along with a light-weight, compact design, are expertly engineered to respond to even minimal changes in pressure. Fully opening at pressure rises of just 10%, they also allow set points for pressure and vacuum, enabling users to optimize operating conditions close to limits while ensuring reliable operation that safeguards personnel and the environment. Precision engineering means less leakage and lost product. Suitable for flammable liquids, the 937-E is fully certified in accordance with the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC. The 937-E series also features a modular design for ease of maintenance and lower stock requirements for spare parts.
Pressure Vacuum Relief Valves (Breather Vents)
Drawing on extensive experience in the pressure relief field, the BS&B FlameSaf® breather vents offer a dependable, internationally certified and precisely engineered design to prevent excessive overpressure/underpressure and damage of valuable tankage during abnormal operation or as a result of exposure to fire. Designed for the highest standards of precision and safety, these vents use FEP diaphragms to provide tight seals between pallet and seat, which coupled with the 10% overpressure feature result in reliable and accurate response to even minimal changes in pressure. Users benefit from optimized operating conditions close to MAWP (Maximum Allowable Working Pressure) while ensuring operation that safeguard both personnel and environment.

Saf T Change
Following rupture disk device activation, a replacement disk must be installed. The Saf-T-Change system allows this to be accomplished fast and with minimum process line exposure to personnel and the environment. Under normal operating conditions a primary rupture disk device is in process contact while a secondary rupture disk device is on standby for immediate deployment. BS&B Safety Systems and Onis Line Blind, recognised technology leaders in their respective industries, collaborated and engineered this innovative Quick Disk Replacement (QDR™) solution to ensure plants optimise production, minimise downtime, and minimise personnel and environmental exposure to open process lines.

942-MW Emergency Relief Valves
Drawing on extensive experience in the pressure relief field, the BS&B FlameSaf® Emergency Relief Vent offers a dependable, internationally certified and precisely engineered design to prevent excessive pressure build-up and rupture of valuable tankage during abnormal operation or as a result of exposure to fire. Designed for the highest standards of precision and safety, these vents use fluoropolymer or elastomer diaphragms to provide tight seals between pallet and seat, which coupled with the 10% overpressure feature result in reliable and accurate response to even minimal changes in pressure. Users benefit from optimized operating conditions close to MAWP (Maximum Allowable Working Pressure) while ensuring operation that safeguard both personnel and environment. 934-BM End-of-Line Deflagration and Endurance Burning Flame Arrester
The BS&B FlameSaf® Model 934-BM end-of-line deflagration arrester was developed to prevent flame transmission caused by endurance burning or atmospheric deflagration.
