Smart Loading, Remote Terrain, Zero Compromise

In one of the most remote regions of the Pacific, DKI delivered a fit-for-purpose tanker loading system that now serves as critical distribution infrastructure for a micro-fuel producing facility in Papua New Guinea’s Southern Highlands.

Previously operating with a fully manual top-loading setup and no overfill protection, the site required a safer, more reliable solution. With no pipeline or port access, tanker loading is the only route to market making efficiency, accuracy, and safety essential.

DKI was engaged to design, manufacture, and commission a semi-automated tanker loading facility, centred on a custom FlexLinc-BC (TOP) Loading Skid with dual loading arms. The scope included custody-transfer-grade metering, precision flow control, and state-of-the-art top loading arms for Jet A1 and Diesel service.

Custom-built to meet strict footprint and environmental constraints, the 5th-generation FlexLinc-BC preset controller transformed operations into a safer, smarter loading process. The upgrade doubled loading rates while introducing preset loading, dead-man controls, high-level overfill protection, and seamless digital load data capture.

Delivering the system required specialised logistics, with equipment shipped to Port Lae and transported more than 700 kilometres over rugged terrain to site.

Chosen for its proven expertise, DKI continues to deliver advanced tanker loading solutions in the most demanding environments. With over 75% of tanker loading gantry systems in Asia Pacific supplied by DKI, this project demonstrates how smart engineering delivers certainty where reliability matters most.
