Ali Utku Can, graduated from ITU Mechanical Engineering Department of Mechanical Faculty in 2005 and then Electrical Engineering Department of the same university as his double-major. After his undergraduate degrees, he successfully completed his master’s degree in the field of Automatic Control and received the title of Msc. Engineer. After graduating, Can began to his professional life in Tupras Refinery as a result of a good success in Young Talent Employment Program of Koc Holding. After being involved in Tupras Refinery in 2006, he had the opportunity to experience in multi-disciplinary international projects; such as mechanical, electrical and instrumentation during his 7-year career in Tupras. Resid Upgrading Project (2009-2013), Gasoline Specifications Improvement Project (2007-2009), Truck Loading Station and Oxygenate Tanks and Transfer Systems (2007-2009) and Diesel Hydro Treating Reformer Project (2003-2007) were the most important projects he actively took part. Can resigned from Tupras Refinery and co-founded Gizil as COO of the company. Gizil was founded in 2012 as an engineering and digitalization service provider for industrial plants, such as refineries, chemicals, petrochemicals, tank terminals, fertilizers, biofuels, etc. Gizil’s wide range of services covers the entire lifecycle of industrial plants: from feasibility, engineering, construction, maintenance, other long-term services, and digitalization. Gizil is focusing as a corporation on emerging technologies. Gizil’s unique selling point is creating digital twins of complex industrial plants with a turnkey execution model.
