Bart has been working in the tankstorage and energy trading industry since 1993. He has worked in various roles for trading to terminaling for Mobil/BP in the 90-‘s in the Port of Amsterdam. After a short step of 3 years into containerization at ECT, he moved to Vopak in 2001. From packaged chemicals (warehousing) through procurement, he moved into logistics for Vopak in Rotterdam. In 2010 he moved to Amsterdam to be part of the team constructing, commissioning and operating the newly built state-of-the-art Westpoort terminal. In 2016 Bart moved back to Rotterdam to work in Digital Innovations for Vopak. In this role he was highly involved in bringing digital solutions into the industry, with a strong focus on assets, people and operations. A major part of this role was also around Vopak Ventures and developing industry solutions with start-ups / scale-ups.
Since the summer Bart has moved to Evos and now works as (technical) business developer in the energy transition portfolio, with a focus on Hydrogen-2-Amsterdam (H2A) and Evos’ role in the Hydrogen market. Both for the 2 Evos Amsterdam terminals as well as the other 6 Evos terminals, he focuses on all various ways to import and handle Hydrogen into Europe.
Bart lives in Leiderdorp (halfway Amsterdam – Rotterdam) and has switched between the 2 ports for 9 times. This is the 5th time he works in the Port of Amsterdam. For all football fans, Ajax leads over Feijenoord by 5 to 4,
