TotalEnergies Secures LNG Supply and Investment in Canadian Project

TotalEnergies has signed a 20-year sales and purchase agreement with Ksi Lisims LNG for the supply of 2 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquefied natural gas, subject to the project’s final investment decision.

In addition, TotalEnergies has acquired a 5 percent stake in Western LNG, the developer, shareholder and future operator of the Ksi Lisims LNG project. The agreement also includes an option to increase its interest in Western LNG and/or take a direct equity stake in the plant of up to approximately 10 percent once the final investment decision is made.

The Ksi Lisims LNG project will have a total capacity of 12 mtpa and is located on the Pacific coast of British Columbia, Canada. Fully electrified and powered by hydroelectricity, it is designed to be one of the lowest CO₂-emitting LNG projects in the world, with direct access to the growing Asian market.
