Worley Consulting has been retained as Lenders’ Technical Advisor (LTA) for two of the UK’s most significant carbon capture and storage (CCS) initiatives: the Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) and NZT Power.
NEP will provide CO₂ transportation and storage infrastructure for carbon capture projects across Teesside and the Humber in North-East England. In parallel, NZT Power is set to become the world’s first gas-fired power station equipped with carbon capture and storage technology.
Following 30 months of in-depth technical due diligence leading up to financial close, Worley Consulting will now continue to support both projects through the execution phase. Dedicated teams will oversee each project separately, covering detailed engineering, construction, commissioning, and operations.
Subject matter experts from Worley Consulting will conduct regular site visits and engage with key stakeholders to support progress reporting and proactively identify any potential risks or delays.
The earlier due diligence work, led by teams based in London and The Hague, was carried out on behalf of the lending banks. This included close collaboration with project shareholders to assess and analyse extensive project data. The insights provided played a key role in shaping investment decisions and securing the financial backing required to advance both projects into delivery.
