Vopak reaches agreement with Green Energy Storage for majority stake in GES to accelerate large-scale battery storage in the Netherlands

Royal Vopak has entered into a preliminary agreement to acquire a controlling interest in Green Energy Storage, as part of its strategy to support the expansion of large-scale battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the Netherlands.

Based in Breda, Green Energy Storage is a Dutch developer specializing in battery storage solutions and has built a notable position within the national energy sector through the advancement of utility-scale projects. The company manages all stages of project development, from site selection and permitting to construction and day-to-day operations, while contributing to grid flexibility and helping alleviate congestion within the electricity network.
